Nearly every evening this last half week I have played my violin at a friends named Dockery - Next week I am going to play with the Fords daughter, Agnes, some arrangements that are rather difficult. I find I pick up quickly and shall in another week be playing easily --

My stair carpet is red - and effective - I have drawn a rough design of my rooms on the next sheet and hope it will give you an idea of the place - Next Sunday I am going to Mrs. Chamberlain's musical - I find the gas stove a great comfort - Am as happy as Punch -

I am keeping an account of every penny I spend -

My rooms and studio are the finest - of all the younger men in this neighborhood

Shall in about ten days met Thompson - If any one is crossing you might send by them or in a box - All the small frames and most of the small paintings about the house I could use them and perhaps will sell them
