April 23, 1901

My dear Father -
This week has been one of all kinds of weathers. It has rained so hard that the Seine is alarmingly high. I have been working in the Louvre and out of doors. Copying Metzin's little painting of the Dutch girl. It is enjoyable work to copy there. Outside I am working on the river painting an old man fishing and another of the river its trees in its spring clothing. The weather has now become very hot and pleasant. Plenty of sun. Went to the Garden of Natural History on Tuesday. They have a fine  collection of animals there. Have written for a
