My dear Father-

I leave for home in the near future. Certain reasons which I do not care to write about make me think Mr. Dillaway is not the best man to represent your interests here. This opinion has been expressed by an important man in the city who is in a position to judge. Dillaway and myself are very chummy, but from certain observations I beg you not to make any decisions regarding your interests or business here until I can tell you and Homer a few important things. I had written a letter in detail on this subject but prefer to wait until I can speak with both you and Homer.

Love to Mother the girls and all
William

I may cable you for ticket &c any day-

[[left margin]]
Don't think for one moment that I am working against Dillaway. The facts are I have done everything I can to put him on the right [[strikethrough]] ? [[/strikethrough]] ropes. But I have some inside information for you.
