MY Dear Father,
I feel strangely alone - not having heard from you since the 16th. of last month. It is important that [[strikeout]] I should see you and Homer and give you certain information regarding your proposed connections in London. And think it necessary for me to return as soon as possible.
Each day I realize more and more the great importance of what I have to offer - and my connections here for most Banking Houses are of marketable value. I intend to return home in about one week. Mr. De Friese like Sir Henery wants me to suggest to your firm that either you or Homer make a flying tip over here - either now or 6n [[on]] my return.
At any-rate I must see you soon. At about the same figure that you allowe [[allow]] me at present by the year - you can be represented here. Mr. De Friese sent for me yesterday and talked for sometime on the subject and too make a long subject short you can for the same figure as my present allowance excepting the cost of desk room & other incidental exspenses [[expenses]] have the whole [[strikeout]] (thro'me) use of his knowledge and necessary connections for your affairs. I hope you are all well at home and should give a good deal to be with you all
Your son,
William
