Dear Mother

Foster has a habit of losing pictures. He lost those others a year ago. Just received a fine letter from Mr. Horton, he spoke of the beautiful framing &c of the water [[strikethrough]] cl [[/strikethrough]] color.

At Mr. Sladens tea I met Alice Lorimer the writer, she was awfully nice to me. She is the cousin of the great artist Lorimer - and is going to introduce me to him next spring when he comes to town. Lorimer has two pictures that have been purchased by the French government. Mr. Sladens company was most select. I met Mrs. Ellis there who writes for the Boston Herald under the name of Max Elliot. She has asked me to call. I shall.
