The picture dealer Wertheimer has ordered portraits of all his children. (ten in all) 

One portrait of a young man (a Wertheimer) was a noble bit of construction. He always has a large amount of work going on. 

He is large, and growing fat. Heavy mustaches, beard, and hair, not a streak of gray in sight. Florid complexion and large cold blue eyes, richly but simply dressed - Sargent talked a bit and then abruptly said, looking at the painting of the two girls, "What do you think of it?
