a machine would work - all the time. And the very best advise I can give you is to go into some school in Paris and work all day at these things I've shown you; the longer you spend the better. Say two years and then your future will be made brighter your work will be sounder. I spent years doing this. Portrait painting is the very worst work a man can do for its hard to paint things as you see them. It takes some courage and [[strike through]] so [[/strike through]] it is so irritating. But now come again bring some more work in three weeks and if you like sooner. Then go over to Paris where with these new ideas ground in you your success there or anywhere will be better. It will save you.
