After dinner we went to the St. Lukes Club where a number of students were assembled. It is a cosy place the rooms and chapel were left by a lady.

I imagined that most of the students would be rather a vicious lot, but it is evidently other-wise. They were quiet and studious lot, some dressed in coderoy trousers and all in old clothes. Some apparently had washed after the days work.

The French dislike both the English and Americans. For one month I shall be studying in Juliens.

Reggy Ward is a tall slovenly fellow. Wears large coderoy trousers, and has become very conceited. He has been in Paris 5 years. Leaves for New York next fall, and Holland next week. Did Haskells work look well that he sent to the Art Club.

Make your plans for coming over, and I shall engage rooms for you at 6 Rue de Chevreuse and we shall spend hours in the galleries together.

Hoping to receive letters direct from you soon I remain
Sincerely yours.
