My dear Mother, 

Am I busy? Well, yes, — Until Thursday I am going to work morning and afternoon in my studio - 

Already, I have three "highly finished works" on hand for the market. It is great fun. This afternoon my subject was a Watteaur [[Watteau]] costume worn by a rather distinguished model who reminded me of Mrs Parks

Yesterday, all day an Algerian posed for me. He was fine in color and I started two interesting works—

Last week in the school I painted and finished an old monk in his cell. The work gives me pleasure and I shall be interested to know the outcome.   Each evening I am busy sand papering small lumps on my works signing my name &c.
