My dear Mother

Much astonishment was caused by receiving your bill of fare. It was a large dinner, and a heavy card. It cost 8 cents extra postage stamps on this side. 

Received a letter from Rob today, he is to spend his Xmas with his Uncle Arthur - and looks forward to a great Kneilspe[[Kneipe]]

I have got ten pictures on hand. The dealer's agent called and the Jewish gentleman wanted only men in tight trousers and ruffled collars sitting by ladies in low necked gowns surrounded by gilt chairs -- I told him I could not put myself or time into that sort of thing unless he wished to give me a contract for ten at ten pounds a peice[[piece]]. The matter I think is closed.
