Last week we received your letter telling about the visit of Mrs. Stallknecht.

We are sorry that Mrs. S. should be so distressed.

Mr. Stallknecht is one of the goodest men I know, the most hasty, and in some ways the greatest blunderer that anyone ever new of, in certain forms of charity. I cannot write you about this subject in a more simple way than to describe it as a great mistake of an ill man. Mistake because
