I broke up an already planned trip to the States for the girl (Passage spoken for &c) on accidently hearing about it from an outside source. The interview was a painful one I had with Mr. S that day. Things soon got so awkward that it was impossible to to tell if I could my parents for at that time I was absolutely in the dark. I was bewildered at our poor friends mistakes and lack of judgement. It seems strange for me to write about a good man of years and his lack of judgement. It is for that feeling that I cannot write a full detailed account of this
