priced studios in lighting arrangements are way behind the cheapest of Paris, but going slowly I shall find what I want.

How hard it is that we have to wait so long for replies in our correspondence. When we have laid aside - a topic buried it - up turns a letter from home on the subject. I wish many times we were nearer together. What about Bess. Don't you think it possible after I am settled say in January that she could come over. It would help me tremendously in meeting people - and as all studios have three or four rooms adjoining we could get on splendidly. I do think it best that at first say for three months it would be best for me to establish myself.

But after I am settled I shall do my utmost to persuade you to let Sis come over. It would cost very little more.

I went to the Theatre last night. Swell evening nearly every night I dine at the Fords and am happy healthy but not wealthy. I miss the commandship [[comradeship]] of the Latin Quarter but shall be more contented when able to start work.

Love to all, and all to you -
William
