remittance of a hundred dollars.

I have tried not to spend one cent to much for my things but since arriving in London and to this present hour for frieght furniture, hotel bills and clothes have spent over two hundred dollars— But I am now nearly settled - Eating in restaurants and paying 5/6 for a room and breakfast a day (each day expecting to settle) on some studio,) is expensive - restaurant living is expensive

I am sorry business is in such a state - Artists here are not complaining - There seems plenty to do by those who are well connected.

I wish I might see the baby the picture you sent me (the first one) pleases me immensely I have shown it to a number of artists and all agree that it is very artistic

I believe I have mentioned about one hundred and fifty times

or less in my letters that Mr. Ford wrote me in Paris that he knew nothing about Lord Thurlow's position except from hearsay and that he thought his introductions might be of some value to me - My big armoire is in place in my studio I shall send you photo's of the red room green room and studio in about two weeks. And shall probably have them used by Miss Philips——

I am sending only one painting to the exhibition committee in Paris for the show at Philadelphia—

My courage is good and strong, and with time I hope to impress that man Thompson and others of my ability as a painter. He will call in about two weeks. Love to all
William
