are huge mountains covered with hills of soft snow. When we waked up this morning and opened our blinds I screamed with delight; for my wildest flights of imagination never led me to anticipate such marvellous scenery. Switzerland is like a lovely dream.
 
After breakfast we started on a sightseeing expedition, and spent an hour in gazing into the shop windows at the lace work. Peasant girls sit on the sidewalk dressed in mountain costume, and doing embroidery. Then we visited the famous Lion of Lucerne, in his grotto and Will was enthusiastic over that great work of art. Our joy would be complete, if only you and Father could be with us.
