took the steamer at 2 P.M. and took an hours ride on the Lake, as far as Küssnacht, a quaint village. We made a pilgrimage to a little chapel erected to the memory of the hero of Switzerland, "William Tell," where your three children sent you a postal.
 
After walking two miles, we entered a restaurant and had a bottle of lemonade and a half hours rest, and then began to ascend the path up the Ridge. Will made us promise not to stop walking until we reached the first piece of snow, but a mile and a half satisfied him and he was [[strikethrough]] satisfied [[/strikethrough]] ready to go back to Immensee, and get a train for Lucerne.
