On our way from the station, we stopped at the office of the Hamburg American Steamship Co, and engaged Room 35 on the Pennsylvania which sails June 20. That is the same room that we occupied on the way over from New York. Now we shall be obliged to make part of our payment in two weeks, so if convenient will you send us the steamer money very soon. The agent says we shall have to pay eighty seven dollars a piece for that state room at this season of the year. Perhaps Miss Ayer will decide to join our party but does not know as yet whether to go home or not.

happen to be in New York.

We considered sailing from Liverpool, but Bessie thought she would rather visit Switzerland than London.

We expect to be here a week, and all our letters are to be forwarded from Paris during that time. In Switzerland, the people speak a mixture of French and German so both Bessie and I have a chance to speak both languages.

I will say goodnight now with lots of love from
Your affectionate daughter,
Helen

Bessie and Will have been talking while I have been trying to write, so kindly excuse two or three mistakes.
