Hotel D'Angleterre
Lucerne
F.J. Steffen, Proprieraire.

June 3, 1903

My dear Mother and Father,
Yesterday morning we ordered our luncheon put up while eating breakfast, and at nine o'clock went on board of the steamer, which leaved the wharf opposite the hotel. The steamers here are about the size of the Nantasket boats, and very comfortable and roomy.
Travelling first class simply means, that you are allowed the pleasure of sitting on the upper deck under an awning, while going second class one is obliged to endure a little sunshine, in fine seats on the lower deck. We go second class, and each paid 3.50 f. [[francs]].
