night. Friday from Wengen on a mountain to Meiringen, & back by the train to Interlaken. The two day tour gave us a splendid view with one gorgeous alpine summit of the Bernese Alps, especially Monch, Eiger, Jungfrau & Silberhorn, to say nothing of many celebrated water-falls.
Lucerne is nothing but a great summer boarding place, but Interlaken has parks in front of the many hotels, & green fields & mountains beyond & pleases much better. Bern, where I stopped two or three hours, to see the cathedral, the green fountains, the homes build in arcades on the sidewalks is on hills & the very pleasant. Laussane is another great city, going up & down, with queer alleys - short cut tunnels under the house.  I walked here Saturday. Today (Sunday) I walked about the town, saw the cathedral and by train (a little over an hour) to Geneva, & returned (their house) by boat. The water side of Geneva is beautiful. The older part of
