Dear Doris: It has been rather muggy here today. I didn't sleep well last night—I was still nerved up from the trip & the Bryans were playing cards with the windows open. Tonight I shall sleep upstairs, it is fairly cool there. We have about 20 ripe tomatoes on hand and are smothered in pears & peaches. Tomorrow I shall get started on Italy again at the office. Love, SFB

Dear Mother, Dad seems to be getting the breakfasts, since he rises so early. We are waiting for a rain to cultivate the tomatoes, but if it doesn't come soon we will just soak them down. Sophy had Dolores & me out to supper Sat. nite & served steak in her elegant way. I'm still looking for a job.

Love Doris
