get in a mess down there. It is hard for you in the winter. You have had a hard time losing the key, etc. But if you can stand it this week- Now about her Easter vacation. I think it is Mar 27 or 28 - Apr. 4. I had thought to save money by having her put it in in Stoughton, but under these circumstances, it might be better to spend the $30 and have her come down, don't you think? I don't say anything about the summer - except to say Dolores was looking forward to her, and wished she could come down & get a job with her and Dolores' other 2 girl friends, Dolly and Pearl, and Dolores thought what a nice time they would all have together. But I said, "Do as you please-" It will work out in time; I am sure, one can't say "You can't do this." It would be disastrous at present.

I read of Maxon's death in a NY Times I picked up at Saville House; a shock, of course. I am glad you had a letter from him. Was tempted to call Weatherby but hadn't time. I suppose they all know of it.

I am spending the day up in the front chamber,-giving the reason that I am "resting", but really keeping aloof from Mrs B. who can't stand too much of me. I am beginning to love my self confidence! I give out that it is all my fault about Doris & she is only too happy to believe it and deliver long moralities that almost make me puke, but I keep in. Scents of a very fresh porky nature are coming upstairs, so I suppose dinner is on the way. It is still snowing - 6 inches yesterday. We heard 80° temp for [[Wash?]]. My crocuses must be blooming, hope they will last till I get back. How is the old cat?
Love,
Doris
