Stoughton Mass
Tues. 9 Sept 1947.

Dear Sid:

We cleaned the cellar properly yesterday and have such, an array of old boxes, baskets, etc. full of trash out on the front awaiting collection. It was a job and I caught a little cold and so as not to hand it on to the others and make it hard all around, am determined to stay on the couch out here on the porch till I get over it.

Doris has had quite a time making up a coal fire and getting breakfast this morning. The oatmeal was so salt it took the skin off my mouth, too, but I haven't mentioned it to her.

We have it much cooler here. A damp N.E. wind blew most of yesterday and it was cloudy until late, but today is sunny again. It will be much easier for you to work this weather. Are you coming home Sat or Sunday? Naturally we hope you will arrive Sat night, but you will want to finish as much as you can, I suppose.

There isn't anything especial to write.

Love,
Doris
