As she was coming out to Stoughton today, I invited her to supper here to meet Doris, whom she hasn't seen for a number of years if at all. I said that maybe she would see her at Radcliffe times. So I am making a fish chowder and tomato salad and have pears and cakes for dessert.

Yesterday Doris and I finished painting the porch. There was just white paint enough to cover it, and I managed to squeeze out the last drop of the gray for the floor and steps. It should have another coat as that first sunk in right over night and can be walked on this morning. But if we can't get it, I suppose it will preserve the wood till next summer. I must get a pane for a storm window
