yesterday and at night, 9.30 on, a heavy rain but not much near lightning. I suppose you may have run into it too, but I hope not to hinder you long. It was overcast and must have been a little cooler driving. We wondered where you were all day.

I returned the library books and did a huge wash - all the sheets in the 2 front rooms, in case Mr & Mrs [[Neisz?]] should show up, and Doris scrubbed the bathroom floor. From now on we shall try to get the home cleaned and the grounds tidied up. I have swept out your little house too. The old cat, so easly, has run up the tree & jumped onto the roof for his daily nap.

P.M. Have been over to see Maud a few minutes this evening with Doris. We have had a good busy day working outdoors; sawed off a few maple limbs this evening.

I hope you are enjoying the choc. cake, and huckleberries and that some of our tomatoes down there are beginning to ripen for you.

Love,
Doris.
