Dr. Stephen Bowers, Editor Ventura Free Press, San Buenaventura, Cal., 1 boat dredge, with net and bag. Dr. Bowers promises to make the proper return of specimens to the Museum. 

Lieut. Gen. M. Stoney, U.S.N.,(through C.W. Schnerman), 1 boat dredge rigged, and two towing nets rigged, to be used in exploration in Alaska during summer of 1885. Dr Nash, U.S.N. will act as naturalist.

Lieut. E. D. Lansing, U.S.N. assistant U.S. Coast and of Serdetic Survey commanding Lt. Mcarthur, on the Pacific Coast, one dredge, rigged; one towing net rigged; one tank box, containing 1 8-gall. and 2 4-gall. copper tans; 24 bottles; 30 homeopathic vials. The alcohol was to be obtained at San Francisco.
