Accessions

The following accessions were received during the month:

15879. From Mr. A. Forrer of Santa Cruz, Cal., nine species (43 specimens) of Echini, and twelve species (41 specimens) of  Starfishes, mainly from Lower California and the west coast of Mexico, one species of each group only being from California. These specimens were all dried and in a good state of preservation. The collection adds several species to our collection, and contains fine specimens of species which were hitherto but poorly represented in the Museum. It also includes three alcoholic specimens of shrimp, from the Rio Presidio, Sinaloa, Mexico.

15881. From C.H Townsend, 1 starfish from Lower California, and 1 sea-urchin (Strongylocentrotus purpuratus) from the Farallone Islands, Cal.; both dried.

15918. From the U.S. Fish Commission, a very large and fine collection of marine
