symposia for the division including the NASA-NOAA Earth Science Summer School - Processes of Global Change and the 1994 International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium. Ms. Schier has developed science requirements for a variety of Earth-observing instruments in her previous roles as Deputy Project Scientist for the Earth Observing System (EOS) SAR and for the Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflectance Radiometer (ASTER) Science Project, Science Coordinator for EOS Interdisciplinary Science, and EOS Instrument Representative. She is also active in encouraging young women to pursue careers in science and engineering. Ms. Schier received the Bachelor in Science in Geological Sciences from Cornell University, College of Engineering, in 1986.
