6.0 ENVIRONMENTAL ANALYSES AND INTERFACES

Any unique engineering analyses, requirements or constraints associated with the KidSat payload will be documented in this section. KidSat compatibility with the Space Shuttle induced environments is documented in ICD A-21332.

6.1 Structural Loads and Deflections- No unique requirements
6.2 Thermal Environments and Interfaces- No unique requirements
6.3 Electromagnetic Interference/Electromagnetic Compatibility- No unique requirements
6.4 Contamination Control- No unique requirements
6.5 Shock, Vibration, and Acoustic Environments- No unique requirements
6.6 Ground Environmental Requirements- No unique requirements
6.7 Materials- No unique requirements
6.8 Outgassing- Not applicable

7.0 INTEGRATION HARDWARE

The responsibilities for the integration hardware are defined in the following paragraphs. 

7.1 SSP-provided Hardware

The following unique hardware will be provided by the SSP as a non-standard service.

a. PGSC (IBM Thinkpad 755C) with expansion chassis and power cables. (provided as part of the ESC DTO)(Shared usage)

b. The Electronic Still Camera, version 2 (provided as part of the ESC DTO)(Shared usage)

c. SCSI data cable to connect the ESC to the Thinkpad computer. (not unique, but flown for KidSat on STS-76)

d. TBD #6 lenses and filters for the ESC. (KidSat unique)

e. Overhead window camera bracket mount. (not unique, but flown for KidSat on STS-76)
