Subject: Greetings from JSC

Hello Everybody,

This is a quick report from the field to let you all know what is going on here in Houston. Mike and I have seen the Thinkpad, the PCMCIA cards, the ESC II camera, the ESC II manual (!!!),and met with various members of the JSC community. As you might already know, the shuttle launch has been postponed until Tuesday, and so we will not be able to see ESC system in operation until then. However, in the ESC POCC (the backroom dedicated to the ESC to support mission control) we ran through procedures, using a raw image from the ESC II taken on the ground, to un-interpolate, process, view, and transfer images.
The phone number of the apartment we are staying at in Houston is (713)212-5843. If there are any questions, please feel free to write to Mike (mafische@sdcc15.ucsd.edu) or myself (memata@sdcc15.ucsd.edu), and we will try and answer them as quickly as possible. We will also be sending out a more detailed report in a few days.

Goodbye from JSC (Clear Lake)

Marianne

P.S. We'reStill [[We're still]] waiting for the shuttle to lanuch [[launch]] so we can state working in the POCC, but while we wait, we're having a good time
