Atlas p. 12 [[image]] Yucatán Peninsula STS41C-32-1072 This low oblique photograph provides an excellent view of the Yucatán Peninsula. The coral reefs offshore are evident, as well as sedimentation in the coastal bays. Merida, Yucatán STS51A-36-069 Merida, Yucatán is the city situated in the center of this photograph. A road connects it to the coastal town of Progreso, which is thought to be the center of the Chicxulub Impact Crater. Agricultural pattern are clearly visible in this region.
