Mexico-Guatemala border

This southwest-looking view of the Bay of Campeche region and part of the Yucatan Peninsula (bottom) shows the prominent Lago de Terminos (center). Immediately south lies the rectangular area at Mexico's border with Guatemala (arrows): the green side of the border is the great Peten rainforest of Guatemala, the largest continuous rainforest in the W. Hemisphere outside the Amazon. This forest appears down the left side of the view (middle and bottom left margin). Note on-fire plumes in the Bay. (STS61B-121-044)
