Omaha, Nebraska     The North Platte River, which cuts west-to-east across the state of Nebraska, meets the Missouri River just south of Omaha, Nebraska (1). The city of the Iowa side of the Missouri River is Council Bluffs (2). The bluffs marking the edge of the Missouri River floodplain are prominent. Otherwise, the city sits amidst the important agriculture region of the Great Plains (STS073-704-042)
