How is KidSat Structured?
----------

KidSat is a real-world approach to earth science. As students become engaged in the project, they do real science and are directly, actively, and personally involved with the space program.

The KidSat lessons introduce students to the space program, the basics of shuttle operations, and the nature of the KidSat camera. They introduce the basic concepts of geography and orbital mechanics that will allow students to select and target sites to photograph.

There is also information on setting up your classroom SMOC, and a series of simulations enabling your students to practice the selection of targets and the communication of their requests through the UCSD Gateway to the space shuttle.
