Before, During, and After the Mission

Learning is active, serious and engaging. The following episodes capture the reality of the KidSat experience. 

Prior to the Launch--After months of research and preparation and just before the launch, one student (a targeting specialist) explains, "We are responsible for identifying photo targets for digital imaging by the camera in space. We're currently reviewing our proposed image targets for final approval. The best part for me will be seeing the images and how our work turned out."

During the Mission--"The days following the launch was even more thrilling than the launch itself. We worked through the night. The students were really in charge, communicating with UCSD, plotting the orbits, selecting targets, cross-checking with the weather, and entering the selection. "Hurry up, only four minutes left for this orbit." They really knew what there were doing; the school was electric with excitement..."
