Answers to Worksheet 4.3

Problem:
1. For the 180 mm lens, calculate 40% of the length of the footprint. 12 miles

This will give you the distance from the beginning of image 1 to the point that should be the beginning
of image 2.

2. Now calculate the time it takes to go this distance. 2.4 seconds

This will tell you how much time needs to pass between the two images in order to plan a stereo pair.

3. Now do the same thing for the 50 mm lens and the 85 mm lens.

50 mm lens: 1) 40 miles
            2) 8 seconds

85 mm lens: 1) 24 miles
            2) 4.8 seconds
