EarthKAM -- Student Investigations
Final Project Guidelines

By now, you have all done an excellent job on the proposals, you have targeted a lot of really exceptional images, and you have hopefully begun work on your investigations and when we would like them.

If you have any questions of would like any help, please contact us at:
EarthKAM_FinalProject@TERC.edu

WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THESE INVESTIGATIONS?
First, here's a reminder about the purpose of the investigations. They are an integral part of EarthKAM. By doing the investigations, students learn to work with images, learn Earth science content, and develop inquiry skills. Students move beyond taking and looking at the images and into learning from the images. This mirrors the way scientists work with images.

WHAT IS THE SCHEDULE FOR THE FINAL PROJECTS?
For your final project(s), you should remember three dates:
• March 25 -- Status Report Due (by e-mail)
• April 15 -- Final Project Due (by e-mail or mail; electronic submissions preferred)
• May 15th -- Reviews of Final Products Sent to Schools (by e-mail)

SEND A STATUS REPORT BY MARCH 25
By March 25, you need to submit a brief status report by e-mail to: EarthKAM_FinalProject@TERC.edu

The purpose of this status report to provide us with information about what you are doing and how you are progressing so that we can evaluate the investigative process and so that we can provide you with help and support.

In your status report, please include the following:
1) A brief description of your investigation(s). (In a separate e-mail, you should have received a document of one paragraph summaries, based on the proposals, of all the investigations. If it helps, you can use the summary of your investigation as a starting point, making revisions as necessary to reflect any changes in what you are doing.)

2) A brief description of the work you have done on your investigation(s) to date.

3) A brief description of the final project(s) you will submit. (See below for more information on the final projects.)

4) Ways that we can help and support you with your investigation(s).
