This is an image of the western coast of Australia at the Gulf of Carpentaria. The mainland area of Australia is Arnhem Land Aboriginal Land in the Northern Territory. The light blue sediment-laden bay at its northern end is aptly named Blue Mud Bay. On the opposite side of the image is Groote Island, home to the world's largest manganese mine. The small island of Bickerton lies between the mainland and Groote Island.
