1. Tomboy-Among many questions over last year...
"Were you a tomboy."
Incisive question (bio, tennis, softball, BB,VB, Rugby)came to irritate me-personal vendetta vs word "tomboy" (implies that liking to play outside, climb trees, play street baseball are male characteristics)
*Although women's athletics has hurtled forward over last 10 years, day-to-day life is still sprinkled with implications-some subtle and some not-so...that sports are for men and boys.

2. We've got to keep working for the changes- of changes over last 10 years have been amazing...I've got a good perspective on changes in intercollegiate ath.
School had no scholarships for women, very few teams.
Those were coached by whatever P.E. Teacher was free that period, used old gym (166 court-dove hit cement walls. Also VB court, badminton, exercise area, dance floor, and was probably once the site of an annual bake sale. You'd probably think this was but an unassuming college with not much interest in athletics [[boxed]]STANFORD [[/boxed]]
3. Stanford pre-title IX: only "big time" team was tennis team and no scholarships, didn't play in PAR-10 couldn't go to nationals... played #1, European couldn't keep scores. Change Reality of Title IX (facilities)
