I have taken the voyage of a lifetime, but everyday in my work as a teacher I find myself on another launch pad, the consequences of success reaching farther and deeper than any space flight. The possibility exists at any given moment [[strikethrough]] of [[/strikethrough]] to influence a young mind - and that could change the world.

So many theories of education prevail today that it is hardly appropriate to single out one. As teachers we are continually open to methods of connecting with our students; methods of interpreting and presenting information for them in a way that will penetrate their inherent biases and make a lasting impression.

We've heard this evening of the educational priorities of this fine institution. I have come across some writings that seem to echo many of them.
-'Not in the service of any political or social creed should the teacher work, but in the service of the complete human being, able to exercise in freedom a self-disciplined will and judgement, unperverted by prejudice and undistorted by fear.'
-'The teacher's task is no small of easy one! He, or she has to prepare a huge amount of knowledge to satisfy the student's mental hunger.'
-'The student's intelligence becomes whole and complete because of the vision of the whole that has been presented to them, and their interest spreads to all, for all are linked and have their place in the universe on which their minds are
