The Self-Esteem Study

Shortchanging Girls, Shortchanging America
In 1990, AAUW commissioned a national survey:

  Greenberg-Lake The Analysis Group interviewed:
    3000 girls and boys
    ages 9-15 (i.e., 4th through 10th grade)
      self-esteem levels
      career aspirations
      educational experiences
      math/science interests

(based on results of the self-esteem study, AAUW awarded a grant to Wellesley College Center for Research on Women to review the research on how girls learn--this report published in 1992)
