Our nearest neighbor is half a mile away & from the stillness you would think there was none.
The southern whippoorwill with a husky voice wakes us at 4 o'clock in the morning and sings us to sleep and there are lots of mockingbirds and cardinals and many unfamiliar calls.
It is very soothing to the nerves. I should like to stay but must get back to work in a few days.
