get rid of them.  Wheelock & her sister are coming up tomorrow afternoon & will escape them, you see.  Also the bathroom is almost refitted & there is to be a porcelain bath tub! --  How do you like that?

  But all these improvements, costing $160. odd dollars, have nearly bankrupted my aunt for the present.

  She says she would like very much to go to Wurtsboro to see your mother &c., but thinks it would be better for her to do so in the Spring when it is not so cold.  She has no warm enough Winter clothes & can't get them so soon.  Beside she has agreed to spend Christmas with the surviving Mrs. Coles.

  So I guess I shall be your only visitor.  I hope you will
