Dearest Girl-
The bell rang this morning at 8:30 and me still in bed! I thought sure it was the new tenant but was very much relieved to find it was only a letter from you. Its ten now & she hasent arrived yet. I found everything on the list except your flower-

I haven't seen the papers yet this morn. If the gov. had let the people demonstrate - as is their right- I am sure there would have been no trouble at all- The city was full of troops - for the defence of the Place de la Concord there were at least 2000 horse & as many on foot. I say defence but there was no question of attack- The people came empty handed but the gov. was armed to the teeth.-
Lots of love to my two girls.- John
