waiting another. But please dont ake [[take]] from all this belly aching that I am carrying a hanging tail. I am out at work at 7.30 each morning chasing this fantasy - beauty.

The wind has been the worst  thanks to 
luck for it has been cold and strong all but three days. From it I have two blistered ears and my hand that holds my palette.

I'm getting a tawn on, however, as much from it as from the sun.

The best things to paint about the town I think are the wonderful old vegetable gardens with all kinds of vines and fruit trees in bloom and glass balls over the new plants
which give great color which is the thing I am going in for most of everything while down here.

I have begun no large canvas yet for the weather angles to be a little more
settled I thought. I have made two or three small affairs and have got me aquainted with the place - now for something more to the point.

I look forward with a good deal of pleasure to our trip to Rouen. The proprieter
