[[pro]]prieter here says it is a delightful trip and many take it both on foot and by bicycle It is only two and a half hours for a wheel being only 40 odd kilometres or about 36 English miles - a fine little two or three days trip.

Unfortunately though I've got to go to Rouen Saturday for I find that the branch here of the Société Géneral will not give me money as it is not one of the stations for Brown Shipley and I've got to have some money soon and it is the nearest place. I could let it go of course for a spell but like to have a little in case of accident.

As to the hotel I find it is really the hotel of the village like the one at Barbizon only much better and more interesting. I am served in a little room with a special fire - alone, and very well - much better than I ever lived in Paris in fact. I have no kids at all.

Well, write when you want to do a welcomed deed and tell me when you can
come.

With all good wishes
Smith
