I can to remove all cause for dissatisfaction and misunderstanding among the American painters here. What the trouble is now I can't imagine. Further remarks on my part would be superfluous. I can but ask you to remember our conversations and to give me credit for being a serious individual whose conduct is not generally at variance with his speech. I confirm my first letter.
