I like the simplicity of it. It appeals to me. At all events for me the episode is ended, & I hope to be able in some way to begin life over again

I agree with you that

if a new Society should be formed Whistler is its natural head.

I imagine that Bartlett would be of the new band & agree with you about Sargent. [[However?]] all in a lifetime. There is no hurry. I think that it will not be difficult to bring together a band as or more distinguished than the 'Travellers'. I regret Gay & Johnston. 

In the mean time I am heartily sick of life here & shall tear myself away this week for a month or six weeks & possibly go with
