FRANKLIN SQUARE, NEW YORK CITY

Feb 16, 1903.

Dear Madam:

Referring to the conversation which you recently had with Mr. W. D. Howells, we beg leave to say that if you will kindly send us the stories you have written which belong to the group of which we have put several in our Magazine, we shall be pleased to consider them for serial and book form publication.

As we remember it, those already in hand are hardly enough for book-form.

Very truly yours,

Harper & Brothers

Mrs. J. W. Alexander.
