place in Portland & see what I can do there - and now who do you think wants to go up to Lovell with me for a while? Mary Karris! She is so tired out - and longs to get away & wants to help me open the house & fix things inside & out in the garden— We both went out yesterday & bought our R.Road tickets & berths - for next Wed the 14th - Each cost $13.77- then I know I will have excess baggage - but Mary's ticket will help out some— I shall enjoy having her - & I think she will pick up in strength up there—
Who should walk in this afternoon but Mrs. Sloane! She talked much of Maine & the boys eagerness to go— Their tutor will go with them - & she plans to have meals at Mrs Lynes— I just had to tell her about you - to show how important an errand you were on - to be enticed away from Maine - when she was to be there - she just squealed with delight - and kept saying "Arn't you proud of him"? She wanted me to give you her love & congratulations and thought it the most wonderful thing— I know I shall enjoy having her up there - & I shall try & have it look cosy & lovely for her at the Camp when she arrives.
She said she would keep the secret until it was published—
The Doctors told Jerry he might not be allowed to leave the Hospital until
