[[archival note in pencil:]] 1 [[circled]] Brussels, June 15, 1919 Dearest Marion, You would indeed have been wondrously interested if you could have followed me yesterday, and been present during the second sitting I had from the King, but you will have to fill in all the color your imagination can give to an inadequate and hasty description of the unique event. I will roughly translate to start with a note I received the night before, from Mr. Whitlock which was written to him— "Office of the King" Palais de Bruxelles 13-June-19. My dear Colleague. In the matter of your telephone communication yesterday. I am writing at the direction of the King, that his Majesty will receive [[archival note in pencil]] (Confidential) [[with line indicating the portion containg the King's letter]] [[/archival note in pencil]]
